Aline Fischer was born in 1981 in Alsace, France. She studied Political Science (Sciences-Po) and already concluded a bachelor‘s degree in sociology and a Masters in Documentary directing in Lussas (Ardèche Images), France. In March 2016 she completed her directorial diploma at the Filmuniversität Konrad Wolf. Aline Fischer deals with the following topics: gender construction and border areas, with a focus on countries that have been influenced by communism.

Cordula Kablitz Post, born 1964 in Aachen, studied German studies, dramatics, and English studies in Munich and Berlin. In 1994, she set up the film and TV production company "Medusa" – but left the company already one year later to set up the production company "Avanti media" that specializes on TV documentary films and portrays in the domains of art and culture together with her colleague Edda Baumann-von Broen.

Daniel Carsenty was born in Frankfurt in 1982. He worked as a journalist for the WDR and RTL. From 2008 until 2014 he studied cinematography at the Film University Babelsberg.

After Theresa graduated with an MA in History from Oxford University, she studied Fiction Directing at the National Film & Telivision School in Beaconsfield (UK). Her first short Film Gecko was nominated for the Golden Bear at the Berlinale in 2007. The script for Theresa’s first feature film-Vier Könige- was nominated for the Deutscher Drehbuchpreis early in 2014.

Florian Gallenberger, Honorary Patron of the 4th Festival of German Cinema.

Born in Munich in 1972, Gallenberger studied directing at the renowned Munich Academy of Television and Film. He won the Academy Award for Best Live Action Short Film in 2001 with graduation film Quiero ser (I want to be ...). Gallenberger’s debut feature, SHADOWS OF TIME (2005), won the Bavarian Film Award as Best First Feature Film. In 2009 JOHN RABE won 4 German Academy Awards, including best film.
